Never Take Freedom for Granted 🇲🇾

Sometimes, we take things for granted simply because they have always been there.

We wake up every morning, go to work, meet our families, celebrate our festivals, speak our languages, practise our traditions, and live our lives without having to think too deeply about the freedom that allows us to do all these things.

But perhaps Merdeka is a reminder to pause and appreciate what we have.

Freedom is not just a word we hear once a year. It is a blessing that lives quietly in our everyday lives.

We may take peace for granted because we have become accustomed to it. We may take our unity for granted because we see our differences every day. We may take the sacrifices of those before us for granted because we were not there to witness them.

But history reminds us that the freedom we enjoy today did not come without sacrifice.

So, as we celebrate Merdeka, let us not only celebrate the colours of our flag or the songs that fill the air. Let us remember the meaning behind them.

Let us appreciate the peace we have.

Let us value our differences.

Let us respect one another.

Let us protect the country we call home.

And most importantly, let us never take our freedom for granted.

Because sometimes, we only truly understand the value of something when we imagine life without it.

What we have today may feel ordinary, but to someone who once fought for it, it was a dream.

So let us be grateful for our Malaysia. 🇲🇾

Merdeka is not only about remembering how we became free. It is also about appreciating the freedom we have, protecting it, and passing it on to the generations after us.

Selamat Hari Merdeka!!

May we always appreciate what we have, never take our freedom for granted, and continue to cherish Malaysia with all our hearts. 🇲🇾❤️

Much love
